       LEARNING

Our provision at Key Stage 3 is unique. We aim to provide a learning environment tailored to the individual
needs of the pupil and to ensure learning is a positive experience for everyone. We provide independent
streaming for Maths, English and Practical subjects and extension classes in Year 10 through our curriculum
plus classes. We offer specialist provision, yet an integrated approach, for those with ASD tendencies seeking
to ensure all needs are provided for at Key Stage 3. To that end the staff:

       • Create a supportive environment
       • Use a variety of teaching methods
       • Promote interactive learning
       • Promote cross curricular literacy and numeracy
       • Encourage pupils to develop their own strategies to begin to develop independence in learning

All pupils are part of a target grade and tracking system where we pause and measure performance, if
necessary individual arrangements can be put in place quickly to provide support. Curriculum support is
enhanced through the Extended Schools Programme, Shared Education, Community Relations, the School’s
Pathways Programme including Literacy and Numeracy support.
