The provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs continues to develop and grow. The
development of Specialist Provisions, the addition of new Teaching Staff and Learning Support
Assistants reflects both the confidence and commitment of the Board of Governors and the
Education Authority to pursue this avenue of inclusivity within the mainstream setting… after all
the non-selective controlled sector is #opentoall.
A Business Case has been approved for an expansion to interim estates, teaching space has now
become a crucial factor to support the parallel development of specialist and mainstream growth.
I continue to work closely with Minor Capital Development to bring additional module classrooms
onto the site in parallel with the new build.
To my colleagues in the Education Authority… It is a matter of importance to prioritise this
Business Case and plan to deliver on the interim development of estates to support pupil and staff
needs. In order to deliver a strong educational provision appropriate funding must be found and
delivered… and not choked by relentless systems that would test the patience of any sane
individual…. In short… stop allowing systems to obstruct the system… I reach out… once again...
and say ‘let’s get the job done!’
The grades achieved in August… by all pupils… are testament to what is possible with renewed
thinking and positivity! We remain committed to the best possible provision for the children in
our care, in and out of the classroom, through enrichment, on or off the stage or the pitch! School
is a culture determined by a committed team where we are building on opportunity and success.
Pele, the Brazilian footballer quoted…. ‘Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance,
sacrifice and most of all, a love of what you are learning’.
So to my pupils, my staff (past and present), and my parent body… together… let us take courage
from the year that has passed and move forward in unity.
Mr Chairman, Governors, Guests & Friends, Staff, Parents and Pupils, I have much pleasure in
presenting this report for the year 2022/23.
Thank you
