Turning now to Grades and Pupil Performance
I am glad to report there was continued success both at GCSE and Post 16!
Year 12 Pupils, their Teachers and Parents, can be justly proud of their GCSE achievements this
summer. 75% of students achieved a minimum of 5 grades in the A* – C range, with 50% achieving
a minimum of 7 grades A*- C. Over half of the cohort of pupils achieved a minimum of 5 grades
A*-C including both English & Maths. There were outstanding A* – C passes in subjects such as
Art, Agriculture, Construction, Community Sport, BTEC Sport, Food and Nutrition, Business
Communication Systems, Child Development, Digital Technology, Double Award Science,
Geography, Prince’s Trust, Music and Drama. This success was further reflected in more
traditional subjects such as English & English Literature, Maths, Engineering, History and RE.
Results were achieved in a full range of general and applied courses providing pupils with a wide
range of options for their future pathways. In a year where results are ‘levelling up’ over 45
students achieved at least 2 A*- A grades.
Congratulations to top performers with A*/A/B grades: Caleb Ford, RJ Getty, Craig Graham, Simon
Hall, Jorja Hanna, Lindsay McCombe and Casian Vlad. Those pupils with A*-C grades: Thomas
Adair, Katie-Leigh Balmer, Adam Burnside, Josh Clarke, Matthew Compton, Matthew Crawford,
Reece Doig, Isobel Farquhar, Brandon Foster, Zak Houston, Lewis Kernohan, Katie Logan, Joe
McMullan, Robyn Millar, Timothy Millar, Maddie Miron, Grace Montgomery, Emma Smithies, Erin
Stephan, Olivia Stewart, Robert Surgenor, Abbie Thompson, Tom Walker, David Wilson and
Thomas Wylie. There are numerous other excellent combinations of grades in the A* – C range
which deserve special credit, and it is also encouraging to note that the majority of all students
achieved at least 5 good grades.
Turning now to A-Level.
Congratulations are due to Adam Courtney, Emma Erwin, Daniel Graham-McCullough, Lydia Weir
and Emma Witherspoon who each achieved three A-Levels to include A*, A and B grades in this
year’s round of A Level results.
69% of the grades achieved were A*-C. The following pupils achieved three top grades A*-C:
Sophie Church, Lewis Dunbar, Amy Francey, Leah Nelson, Ellie Reid, Lowri Rennie, Chloe
Thompson and Charlie White.
The following pupils achieved two/three successful grades: Connie Bell, Jemma Bleakley, Sarah
Browne, Laura Cameron, Ella Dunlop, Libby Ellis, Kira McCaughern, Molly-Jo McCullough, Joel
McGuinness, Jony Miron, Jodie Murray, Katie Selwood, Katie Smyth and Aimee Stirrup.
