This year has seen a vibrant and competitive atmosphere in school, with a wide array of competitions
that encouraged creativity, teamwork, and school spirit across all year groups. The competitions were
not only an opportunity for pupils to showcase their talents but also contributed significantly to the
overall house points tally. There were numerous competitions, but below are some of this year’s
                    highlights.

House Colours Day - This now annual event brings together our school community , united in our
hearts to raise money for charity, but proud of our own collective Houses! Money was raised for
Turning Point NI and Children in Need.

Chocolate Decorating Competition - The annual competition was a delightful event that brought out
the culinary and artistic skills of many pupils. Students impressed judges with both presentation and
flavour. The competition fostered a sense of community and friendly rivalry, with all Rathmore and
                    Ballyloughan gaining the most points.

Y9 Netball Tournament -The netball matches were fiercely contested, showcasing excellent
teamwork and sportsmanship. Each house fielded an enthusiastic squad, and the level of skill on
                    display was most encouraging.

Root Word Challenge - Following the very successful root word work done in form time, a challenge
was set to see who could come up with the most words. Harberton entries excelled, taking the first
four places, with Ballyloughan and Rathmore also featuring.

Fantasy Football League - This year, the fantasy football league was introduced as a new event,
allowing students to engage in strategic thinking and football analytics. It proved immensely popular,
with pupils competing weekly to manage the most successful teams. Bonus points were awarded for
creativity in team naming and participation throughout the season. Zac Russell from Rathmore
scooped first place with Matthew Foster and Mark Patton, both Ballyloughan taking second and third.
Mr Gorman, Mrs Kelly and Mr Crooks all secured points for their houses too!
