Beat the Clock—All classes in all year groups participated in our ‘Beat the Clock’ competition.
Pupils had 20 seconds to answer as many mental maths questions as possible, and every correct
answer bought them more time. Answer a question incorrectly and it was game over! The
competition proved hugely popular and became extremely competitive. Our winners will get the
chance to defend their titles next year!
Fantasy Football—After a prolonged absence, Fantasy Football returned to the Maths
department this year. Over 30 teams competed from September to May to see who would be
crowned as our 2025 champion. Managers of the month certificates were presented, house
points were gained, competitors used ‘Bench Boost’ and ‘Triple Captain’ and ‘Wildcard’, made
countless transfers (within their budgets!) until the season concluded. Zac Russell (Year 12) was
our champion, with Mr Gorman and Matthew Foster (Year 12) taking the other spots on the
podium.
Year 12 Revision—Year 12 pupils attended an immersion session for some final revision on the
morning before their final GCSE module. There were pancakes, pastries and plenty of past
papers!
International Maths Day—Year 8 had fun celebrating International Maths Day. The theme was
Mathematics, Art, and Creativity, and encouraged our pupils to explore the beauty of maths
through art.
