Year 14 Travel & Tourism trip- From White Star to Five Star: Travel & Tourism Students Set
                    Sail for Success

In February 2025, our Year 14 Travel and Tourism students had the opportunity to step into
the world of visitor attraction management at Titanic Belfast, as part of the acclaimed "From
White Star to Five Star" seminar.

Designed specifically for students and aligned with the Travel and Tourism curriculum, the
seminar offered a unique insight into the operation of one of Northern Ireland’s top tourist
destinations. The day began with an engaging Meet the Panel session, where students heard
directly from Titanic Belfast’s Senior Executive Team. Topics included marketing, operations,
and human resources, providing a comprehensive view of the factors that contribute to the
                    attraction’s international success.

Students then got to test their own strategic thinking in C.E.O. (Construct, Employ, Operate)
                    — an interactive board game that simulates managing a visitor attraction. This hands-on
experience allowed them to put theory into practice in a fun and competitive environment.
The day concluded with a visit to the newly reimagined Titanic Experience, followed by lunch
provided by the attraction’s excellent in-house catering team.

A huge thank you to the staff at Titanic Belfast for a thoroughly inspiring and educational
day. Our students left with a greater appreciation of the dynamic world of tourism and some
                    valuable takeaways for their studies.

                    Young Enterprise

Mindful moments. The Year 13 students embarked on the Young Enterprise Company
Programme, which provided them with firsthand experience of running their own company.
Each student assumed a director’s role within the business named “Mindful Moments”.
Their venture focused on producing beautifully designed bullet journals. The team attended
the St. George's Market Trade Fair and the Abbeycentre Trade Fair where the students
achieved two awards “Area Trade Fair, Best Company” and a special recognition award for
“Innovative Product Idea”. This invaluable learning experience was thoroughly enjoyed by all
                    participants.
