A Legacy of Service: Dunclug College Honours Retiring Chair, Mr. Paul Gray
After years of steadfast leadership and unwavering support, Dunclug College extends its
deepest gratitude to Mr. Paul Gray, who is retiring from his role as Chair of the Board of
Governors. Mr. Gray has been an integral part of our college since joining the Board in 2007,
expertly guiding the school as Chair since 21st May 2015.
During his time at Dunclug, Mr. Gray has been a constant advocate for the school community.
In all discussions, debates, and celebrations, he brought wisdom, insight, and a remarkable
depth of experience. His dedication to enhancing our educational infrastructure was perfectly
showcased through his crucial role on the Project Board for the new school build, a legacy
that will benefit students for generations to come.
Mr. Gray’s commitment to education, however, extends far beyond our college, spanning
nearly four decades. His exemplary service began in 1985 on the Board of Governors for
Hightown Primary School in Bristol, and continued at Gordano Comprehensive School from
1995 to 2006. This remarkable history highlights a lifetime dedicated to supporting young
people.
Beyond his incredible contributions to education, Mr. Gray has shown a profound
commitment to charity work. Since 2008, he has volunteered with the local Samaritans, even
taking on a leadership role within their training team to guide and inspire others. His
compassion also led him to volunteer for Marie-Curie from 2014 to 2020, where he served as
a Home Assessor and Visitor.
The cumulative impact of Mr. Gray's
contributions is truly commendable. His
selfless dedication, leadership, and
passion for community service have left
an indelible mark on all the institutions
he has been involved with.
As he now moves his focus to his
grandchildren, family, and some well-
deserved rest, we wish him the very
best in his retirement and thank him for
his outstanding service to Dunclug
College.
