From sun-soaked team-building to glamorous spring celebrations, the 2024–25 academic year was
one for the books at Sixth Form! Our students embraced every opportunity with energy, enthusiasm,
and a whole lot of heart.

We launched the year with our exciting Induction Days in August, welcoming new faces and
reconnecting with familiar ones. The Army Outreach Team brought the heat—literally and
figuratively—with their Elite Skills Academy. Pupils took part in outdoor team-building activities
under the summer sun, building confidence, communication, and camaraderie. The team also
delivered a careers presentation that got everyone thinking about their future paths.
This year, Pupil Enrichments became a cornerstone of Sixth Form life, taking place every Day 10.
Students had the chance to explore a wide range of activities, including:
                       • Sign Language Course
                       • Study Skills Workshops
                       • Volunteering Opportunities

                       • Primary School Placements
                       • Music Lessons
                       • CAP Money Management Course
                       • Fitness Sessions

We kicked things off with a Student Bake Off, and the common room was filled with the sweet scent
of success—and lots of yummy treats!

In October, some of our Year 13 students stepped up to the challenge of the Rotary Club Youth
Leadership Competition. They were interviewed by local business professionals, gaining valuable
experience and confidence. A special shoutout to Tameece McKelvey, who advanced to the
                    Ballymena Area Round—a fantastic achievement!

November brought a wave of generosity as Sixth Formers collected items for the Rotary Club
Christmas Hamper Appeal. These donations were warmly received and made a real difference in our
                    local community.

December was packed with festive spirit! Our annual Christmas dinner in the canteen was a hit,
complete with music, crackers, tinsel, and Shloer. The fun continued with a trip to Dundonald Ice
Bowl, where students enjoyed ice skating and bowling, with a tasty stop at Applegreen for lunch on
                    the way home.

Just before Easter, we rolled out the red carpet for our Spring Ball at Galgorm Manor. It was a night
of glitz, glam, and celebration, as students dressed to impress and danced the night away in a
                    stunning setting.

As the year drew to a close, our Year 14 students celebrated in style. Highlights included:
                       • Come As Your Future Self Day – a fun and imaginative look ahead
                       • Inflatables & BBQ Day – complete with water fun and laughter. Even Mrs Sloan and Mrs Greer
enjoyed the water slide, but not so much the drenching given by the pupils at the end of the
                          day!
                       • A sunny bowling trip to the Jet Centre in Coleraine, followed by a delicious lunch at Newbridge
Restaurant. It was the perfect way to round off an unforgettable year.
