The Computing Department continued its’ success with pupils achieving excellent grades in
GCSE Digital Technology and Occupational Studies Web and Graphic Design. Year 14 pupils
were just as successful receiving excellent grades in GCE Digital Technology and BTEC Level 3
Information Technology. In September we had Sentinus complete a workshop with Year 12,
Year 13 and 14 on Cybersecurity and Coding. We learnt how cyber attacks happen, how to crack
a Caesar Cipher with Brute Force, how to code using Python which involved using Microbits to
exchange radio data. 2023 saw the department introduce a new Digital Technology A-Level.
Year 13 learnt about modern Computing theory and how to create games using GML code.
Key Stage 3 continued to learn basic computer skills, with Year 9 completing the iDEA award and
Year 10 were introduced to the Cyber-Explorers Programme. Year 10 also had some fun
creating AI pictures using Adobe Firefly to let their imaginations run wild.
